Sushi

I love playing with unique colors and limited palettes. For this painting I used three colors with two of them being bold, wild selections: Phthalo Turquoise and Napthol Red. So much fun seeing how big of a universe I could build using these two pigments. Turns out it's a fairly wide and interesting sandbox to play in. Of course accompanying them was Titanium White to increase the value range. I love how this turned out with a lot of interesting mark making, atmosphere, and color harmonies. This painting is based on a photo I took while dining at one of my favorite San Diego sushi places that is now no more, North Park Sushi.
