Pumpkin
In late 2020, I began having CSA farm boxes delivered to my house to help support local farms and eat healthier. I enjoyed being introduced to unfamiliar ingredients and figuring out new recipes to incorporate them, and also discovering creative ways to eat items that reappeared frequently (I'm talking about you zucchini). There was a certain Christmas Day excitement to receiving a box on two accounts: 1) To see what delicious fruits and vegetables I'd get to eat, and 2) To see what visually interesting fruits and vegetables I'd get to paint. This pumpkin is one. Painted from life with the pumpkin sitting before me using a limited palette of just three colors: Titanium White, Cinnabar Green, and Cadmium Deep Red.
Oil painting using limited palette on 6x8" paper. Painted image measures 5x7"
Framed (may differ from one in photos).
